Abstract

We report on the unusual tribological, surface and corrosion properties of ultrathin (~ 1.5 nm) amorphous carbon (a-C) overcoats, which have been grown on CoCrPt:oxide-based media using a facile pulsed direct current (DC) sputtering process.
