Abstract
Alumina ceramic coatings containing 14 and 48 wt% TiO2 were thermally sprayed on carbon steel substrates by oxy-fuel using a neutral and oxidizing flame. The permeation of aggressive ions into these coatings was evaluated at different times and their protective behavior was compared with hard chromium coatings. The results showed that, in the first 24 h, the hard chromium coating was the most protective; however, its ability to protect the substrate substantially decreased after 7 days. On the other hand, a moderate performance was observed at 24 h for the alumina-14 wt% TiO2 coatings that were manufactured using the oxidizing flame, but after 7 days of exposure, these coatings displayed protective properties that exceeded those achieved by the hard chromium coating at 24 h. The other alumina-titania coatings behaved relatively weakly, most likely due to the ease with which the aggressive ions permeated through the pores and cracks of each coating.
Microsoft is Ending Support for Windows 7
Microsoft will discontinue support for Windows 7 on January 14, 2020 which means Gamry will also be discontinuing support for Windows 7. If you are upgrading to Windows 10, like many companies and institutions, you need to be running Version 7 of our s oftware . Please note that only USB and Ethernet-based instruments can run in Version 7. Eligible users can download the latest version of our software through our online Client Portal .
If you haven't already registered your instrument, you can do so through the Client Portal .
Please email Technical Support if you have any questions regarding this transition. Please be sure to include your instrument model and serial number when contacting us.
