Abstract

Cation disordered rock-salt Li-excess cathode materials can deliver high reversible capacities (>250 mAh g?1). However, their commercialization has come to a standstill because of practical drawbacks, such as voltage fading, voltage hysteresis, and poor rate capability. Therefore, it is urgent to probe the kinetic and transport properties of this kind of cathode materials. For this aim, Li1.25Nb0.25Mn0.5O2, a typical material with cation disordered rock-salt structure, is used as an object for the investigations of kinetic properties for the first time. Through a series of detailed electrochemical measurements, DLi values are calculated to be in the order of 10?13
