Lattice matched coating on the surface of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4

Abstract
A lattice matched coating on the surface of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 is firstly proposed in this study. First, Cr element is doped in LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4, then LiAlTiO4 material is coated on its surface. HRTEM image displays that a transition region is formed between the coating layer and the base material, in which the lattice fringes match the base material. The LiAlTiO4-coated material exhibits good electrochemical properties, especially good charge-discharge cycle performance. Its initial discharge capacity is 123.7 mAh g?1, and the highest discharge capacity reaches 129.3 mAh g?1 at 1 C current rate. After 500 cycles, its discharge capacity is 111.2 mAh g?1, and the retention remains 89.9%.
